I made this sampler for my granddaughter at the request of her mother. I made a birth sampler for my daughter when she was born, and we moved a lot. She tells me that she knew she was in ‘her place’ when her birth sampler went on the wall, and she always felt good when it was there, so she asked me to make a sampler for her daughter. This is the sampler that I have stitched for my granddaughter, Adele Peroline Snyder Masset. Her mother chose teal for the stitching colour as she isn’t a fan of pink.

The threads used were DMC #12 perle coton – ecru, Access Trebizond TRA 132-ecru, YLI 4mm silk ribbon in white and teal, Access Au Ver de Soie – teal, Access Au ver de Soie – cream, Krienik #4 braid – vatican gold, and Mill Hill beads – seed, ecru and petite , champagne, Access Mother of Pearl Heart bead
