EAC/ACB Service Pin

The EAC/ACB Service Pin is awarded to active members who have demonstrated exemplary participation, service and dedication to EAC/ACB and who embody all that we are as an association. Seminar Scholarship/Grant

The Seminar Grant has been developed to support and encourage the aim of the association to preserve traditional techniques and promote new challenges in the art of embroidery by providing the tuition to an EAC/ACB member for a course of study at an EAC/ACB seminar. Eleanor Thomas Youth Award

The Eleanor Thomas Youth Award (ETYA) was developed to support youth members in improving their embroidery through workshops, self-directed learning through books, EAC/ACB courses and attending the EAC/ACB seminar. Pauline Glover Educational Grant

The Pauline Glover Educational Grant (PGEG) will be awarded to a member of EAC/ACB to study an individual course at the basic, intermediate, or advanced level. The complete policy and more information about the PGEG are available on the Awards and Grants for Members webpage.

Original Design Award

The EAC/ACB Original Design Award (ODA) is an annual judged award presented each year at the seminar of the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada, Inc./Association canadienne de broderie, Inc. The complete policy and more information about the ODA are available on the Awards and Grants for Members webpage.

The purpose of the award is:

  • To encourage the growth of the individual embroiderer
  • To promote the development of embroidery as an art form in Canada
  • To provide recognition to those individuals who have used the creative process effectively in the development of an original piece of needlework
  • To provide a goal for aspiring needlework artists
  • To improve the quality of works at exhibitions
  • To provide an opportunity for recipients of this award to aspire to future achievements and recognition

Leonida Leatherdale Award

The Leonida Leatherdale Award (LLA) will be given for an original design or adaptation which takes the traditional art of needlework and raises it to new heights. The LLA is awarded by the Winnipeg Embroiderers’ Guild (WEG) – the founding chapter of EAC/ACB – and administered by the EAC/ACB. Pulled Thread Award

The Pulled Thread Award (PTA) was developed to promote the technique of pulled thread through further study of the technique. The complete policy and more information about the PTA are available on the Awards and Grants for Members webpage.

Seminar Theme Award

The Seminar Theme Award (STA) was developed to encourage members to design and stitch a piece of needle art using the seminar theme as their inspiration. The complete policy and more information about the STA are available on the Awards and Grants for Members webpage.

Viewers Choice Award

The Viewers’ Choice Award (VCA) was developed to acknowledge the stitcher of the favourite piece of embroidery as voted on by those attending the Members’ Exhibition. Seminar Group Project Award

The Seminar Group Project Award (SGPA) was developed in August 2016 to acknowledge groups working together on a single project or on individual pieces that form a group presentation. The complete policy and more information about the SGPA are available on the Awards and Grants for Members webpage.

EAC/ACB Board Challenge

The EAC/ACB Board Challenge began in 2015. The final year of the challenge was 2021 (awarded in 2022 due to the pandemic).
