ART DECO ACCESSORIES PART 1

PATTERN/CHART SALES: JANUARY 1 TO APRIL 30, 2025

This project introduces the use of interlock canvas for construction – presented in two parts. Part 1 is comprised of the needlebook, scissor sheath and scissor fob. Part 2 completes the set with a collapsible Ort Box.  The stitches provide a deep dive into diagonal stitches and the problems they can create in distortion and compensation with some suggestions for mitigation. The stitch models are completed in a classic Art Deco colour scheme of black, red and silver, with the addition of three values of grey. The sheath and needlebook have the same design on both sides but the colour placements and stitches vary. Both sides of the fob are the same. Detailed finishing instructions will be included.

Stitches: Smyrna, tent, Scotch, Mosaic, Cashmere, Nobuko, Rice, Basketweave, Kalem, Gobelin, Fern, Beaty, Point de Tresse, Van Dyke, Helen’s Lace, Corduroy, Rhodes, Jacquard, Byzantine, Milanese, Oriental, Caswell and Cross Stitches

Design: Scissor Sheath – 9″ x 1 7/8″          Fob – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″          Needlebook – 7½” x 3¾”

Supplies:  18 count Interlock canvas or Congress cloth, variety of threads, such as #5 and #8 perle cotton, floss, #4, #8 and #12 Kreinik braids
