Gladness the Giraffe is featured in Hazel’s book “Crewel Animal Portraits“. It is worked with an interesting variety of embroidery stitches and techniques, with the focus of the design being an unconventional method to create the patches of the hide.

Size of Design Area: 11” x 8” (280 mm x 200 mm)

Ground Fabric: cotton/linen blend

Thread: DMC stranded cotton in solid and variegated colors

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Text:  Because of publishing contracts, participants will be required to own a copy of the “Crewel Animal Portraits” book to access the written instructions.  The book is available from various online book sites or can be ordered at your local bookstore.

Time:  Four (4) Months: one (1) lesson each month for three (3) months and one (1) extra month for assistance

Required Kit:  includes full project kit, teaching kit and shipping but does not include Canadian Customs duty
