BONNIE’S BEAVER
PROJECT BY PAT ARMOUR
BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE || CREWEL EMBROIDERY
PATTERN/CHART SALES: SEPTEMBER 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 2024
Bonnie’s Beaver is stitched using traditional crewel wools but updated with sequins, beads and coloured tulle, as well as highlights in cotton floss and a dimensional branch held in his paw. Thirteen maple leaves, one for each province and territory, are made of different filling stitches, creating a sampler for future reference. The body of the beaver uses stippling for shading with a rather splashy tail of battlement couching and beads—a challenge for the confident beginner but lots of variety for the intermediate stitcher.
