Ideal for stitchers with no prior Hardanger experience, the Fjordland Dreams pattern introduces you to this beautiful Norwegian technique through step‑by‑step instructions, charts, and clear stitch diagrams. Carolyn’s helpful tips guide you as you create this crisp whitework piece, teaching the main traditional Hardanger stitches and techniques along the way.

The pattern also includes a bookmark version of the design adapted by Linda Brenner.

Threads & fabric needed: 

• 20″ x 20″ (50cm X 50cm) Hardanger fabric* (22 count): white, off white or ecru
• 1 ball #5 Perle Cotton (same colour as Hardanger fabric)
• 1 ball #8 Perle Cotton (same colour as Hardanger fabric)

Other supplies:

• Tapestry needles #22 and #24
• Small, sharply-pointed embroidery scissors
• Tweezers (optional)
• Hoop or Q-snap frame (optional)

* Oslo Hardanger fabric is not recommended as it is harder for beginners to work with
