This is a teaching course for beginner students in Hardanger. It is expected that all the stitches in this course will be completed, including the two styles of finishing the table mat. It is recommended that you have some experience of working on cotton or linen fabric and have done any of the following techniques: counted cross stitch, counted thread work, or blackwork.
The stitches in the design are: straight klosters, staircase Klosters, eyelets, ships, cable stitch, reverse cable stitch, buttonhole edging, fringe edging, herringbone stitch, cutting woven bars, dove’s eyes, and square fillets. Finishing instructions are included.
Design Area: 52.07 x 26.04 cm (20.5 x 10.25 inches)
Ground Fabric: 22-count fabric. Hardanger or Arisosa cut 69 x 41 cm (27 x 16 inches)
Thread: Pearl cotton #5 and #8 and one skein of the Caron Collection Watercolours®, if desired
Text: 25 pages, plus large colour copy of the finished table mat, and four detailed stitch charts of the design
