Description

In Stitching in Gold: Inspiration, Process, and Practice, Clara will reflect on her path with goldwork and stumpwork, highlighting how traditional metal-thread and drawing techniques have influenced her creative practice.

Through images of her work, she will explain how these techniques can be reinterpreted through colour, dimension, and contemporary design. She will discuss her creative process: from initial concept and drawing to padding, structure, and final embellishment. Clara will also reflect on how her experiences teaching both in person and online have shaped her approach to goldwork, making it approachable and artistically ambitious.

In addition, she will share how goldwork can honour its traditions while leaving room for personal exploration and expression.
