Description
This 4-lesson course over 6 months is designed to introduce you to surface embroidery, showcasing twelve basic embroidery stitches; outline, stem, running, double running, back, split, blanket/buttonhole, single detached chain, chain, French knot, straight, and satin. Each stitch is shown in step-by-step photos as well as in a stitch diagram. You will stitch a small sampler, plus a final floral piece.
At the end of each lesson, you will provide photographs of all your work to your counsellor via email or a file-sharing service (such as Dropbox or Google Drive). Your counsellor will assess your work and provide feedback to help you improve.
No research is required for this introductory-level course. You are sampling some of the stitches involved in this technique while you work on a small project.
