Description

This 4 lesson course, over 6 months is designed to introduce you to the technique of stumpwork, also known as raised embroidery. You will work through a variety of stumpwork techniques (padding, couching, and detached elements using satin stitch, split stitch, lazy  daisy and French knots) to create the design provided. Each stitch is shown in step-by-step photos.

At the end of each lesson, you will provide photographs of all your work to your counsellor via email or a file-sharing service (such as Dropbox or Google Drive). Your counsellor will assess your work and provide feedback to help you improve.

No research is required for this introductory-level course. You are sampling some of the stitches involved in this technique while you work on a small project.
