This course is designed for you to expand upon the knowledge and skills learned in the basic and intermediate level courses. Topics covered are further knowledge in colour, design, creativity, organizing skills in planning and presentation, use of traditional and contemporary materials in Canvaswork, skill in researching information, expanding your knowledge of embroidery history, introducing new techniques and encouraging experimentation, furthering skills in graphing, blocking and finishing, and learning conservation and restoration techniques. This course is a prerequisite for a student wishing to enroll in the EAC Teacher Certificate Programme specializing in Canvaswork teaching.
Prerequisite: EAC Intermediate Canvaswork or equivalent from other recognized organizations or institutions. Or, you may submit a minimum of three detailed slides or pictures of different pieces of your work in the technique for which you are applying, plus one unmounted piece showing a variety of stitches. The Notebook Review Panel will consider your application based on your submission.

About the Optional Binder Review
The binder review is an optional step once you’ve completed one of the EAC/ACB technique study courses.
With a binder review, the student will send their completed binder to the Education Director. The Education Director takes a general over-all look at the work in the course from beginning to end. Neatness, orderliness, inclusion of all course and any other information, extra work, if done, questions asked and answers and care in presenting an attractive binder is taken into account. Also looked at is skill development from beginning to end, use of colour, stitches, improvement in stitch execution, design, skill in diagramming and/or charting.
The Education Director will mail the binder with her/his notes back to the student with the Certificate of Completion and Correspondence Course Pin.
A binder review is compulsory to advance to the Teacher Certification Programme.
