Pacific Reflections, an ode to British Columbia, is a stumpwork design accented with goldwork. You will stitch BC icons, such as the majestic orca, with black and white kid leather outlined in pearl purl metal thread. String strands of metallic thread from the fins to the main fabric to emulate the water flowing off the whale as it breaches. You will stitch a Haida totem pole in the foreground and add BC jade stones at the base. With its wired, detached petals, your stumpwork Pacific Dogwood will have a lifelike appearance. You will add Western red cedars standing majestically in the background along the rocky shoreline.
