This is a delicious little pear stitched on 18 count mono canvas. It is designed to please, whether you like your fruit green and crispy or gold and ripe, so it is available in two colorways, tones of green and brown or tones of gold. It is made up in six panels of canvaswork stitches, and is completed in a variety of fibres. It is part of the Five Servings a Day series of canvaswork fruits.
The pear is finished as a 3 dimensional object stuffed with fibrefill and pellets. A finishing lesson is included.
Techniques used in the project: Canvaswork stitches worked in 6 panels. Assembling into a 3D object.
Stitches used in the project: Pavilion diamonds, Scotch, Dutch, Brick, Palace
Size of Design Area: 3” x 4” x 3 1/2″ finished size
Supplies needed: 18 count mono canvas; Watercolours and Waterlillies by Caron; DMC perle cotton; Splendor silk floss; ribbon floss; Kreinik metallic braid; Silk Serica. (Plastic stuffing pellets and ultrasuede patch is included with the kit)
Students supplies:
- 9″ x 12″ stretcher bars
- size 24 and 22 tapestry needles
- thread conditioner (beeswax or Thread Heaven), optional
- laying tool
- fibrefill stuffing
- 4″ doll needle
