On the Edge departs from conventional canvaswork in presenting a design that juxtaposes raw nature with manufactured beauty. To create this unique and beautiful contrast a wide variety of threads in a multitude of colours were used. Included are: Petite Very Velvet, Waterlilies, Impressions, Sampler Threads, Perle Cotons, Floss, Braids and Splendor, among others. The design is brought to life with common stitches that are normally not used in canvaswork including split, chain, raised chain, Van Dyke, long satin and stem, in addition unique and intriguing stitches such as Walneto, Sprat’s Head, Chilly Hollow, Waffle, Jessica, Crescent, Mistake, lattice work, twisted cords, layered stitches and more. Experience a stimulating study in contrasts as you complete this moving design.
