This course will expand your awareness of and encourage a positive attitude towards developing your own creative potential; provide exercises that will enable you to develop your sensory awareness and creativity through embroidery; help you achieve an understanding of the principles of art and how they are used as a vocabulary for expressing the visual aspects of embroidery, as well as for defining personal ideas and thoughts. You will learn of the specific elements and principles of design, and then generate experiments in fabric, thread and other art media to demonstrate these. Sensory awareness, through the “look and see” method, as well as other senses, will be employed in order to gain inspiration for future embroideries.
